Technical Tip: This is because it is meant to function as an outer protective layer (Layer 3) over your equipment. However, if you intend to use it as a casual standalone rain jacket over a light T-shirt, it is recommended to size down for a more tailored fit.
DWR Coating Care & Maintenance: The dropliner membrane keeps water out from the inside, but the outer Nylon DWR coating ensures water beads off the surface. Maintenance Guide: Over time, friction and washing will reduce the effectiveness of the DWR layer. When you notice the outer fabric starting to absorb water instead of repelling it, wash the jacket at 30°C without fabric softener and reapply a dedicated DWR restoration spray once fully dry to restore water repellency.
